Eric L. Affeldt, Director

Eric Affeldt was elected to Cedar Fair’s board of directors in 2010 and served as non-executive chairman from 2012 through 2017.

Eric is a senior advisor to KSL Capital Partners. From 2006 through 2017, he served as CEO and a director of ClubCorp Inc. (NYSE: MYCC), which owns or operates a network of golf and country clubs, business clubs, sports clubs and alumni clubs. Eric served as a principal of KSL Capital Partners, the private equity firm that purchased ClubCorp in 2006. He also previously served as president and CEO of KSL’s former golf division, KSL Fairways; vice president and general manager of Doral Golf Resort and Spa in Miami and the combined PGA West and La Quinta Resort and Club in California; and was a founding partner of KSL Recreation. In addition, Eric was president of General Aviation Holdings, Inc.

Eric is currently a MDA vice president and member of the World Presidents Organization. In 2015, 2014 and 2010 Eric was named the most powerful person in golf by Golf Inc. In 2015, Eric was named to the Institutional Investor All America Executive Team in the “best CEO” consumer-leisure sector. In 2013, Eric was awarded the prestigious Cecil B. Day Ethics Award by the Dedman School of Hospitality at Florida State University. In 2016, Eric was added to The University of Houston’s Hospitality Hall of Honor, joining the likes of Walt Disney, Truett Cathy, William Marriott and Howard Shultz.

Eric holds a B.A. in Political Science and Religion from Claremont McKenna College.

Eric is a former manager of the Belgian National Baseball Team, which competed in the 1978 World Championships, now known as the World Baseball Classic.
